The Beauty AI Industry

and a Woman Who Left her Imprint On it

Technology touches all of our lives in one way or another.  Whether it be in one’s profession as a coder or as a layman enjoying advanced communications, education, entertainment, healthcare or travel. There is no escaping its open arms and tight hug on all of our lives.  But for Elise Marmon, her experience with technology three years ago took an unexpected and dramatic upturn when she accepted a C-Suite position at Giaran.

Giaran was founded in 2015 by world-renowned AI expert Raymond Fu.  This award-winning technology utilizes AI platforms to provide an instant and interactive makeup robot that provides users a smarter virtual try-on experience of cosmetic products in-store, online or on-the-go, with exact color-match and recommendations customized to individual face-shape, skin tone, and texture.  Giaran includes Makeup Virtual Try-On, Tutorials, Color Matching, Personalized Recommendations, Makeup Removal, Face Tracking, and Skin Tone Detection.

Elise was the perfect person to lead this company as Vice President of Sales and Business Development because of her background and her can-do attitude that others describe as being idealistic, indefatigable and impassioned.  She is a graduate from Stony Brook Southampton State University of New York having earned her BA degree in Marketing and Management.

Ms. Marmon was with White’s Pharmacy in East Hampton NY for 25 years. She left White’s in 2012 in order to provide care for her father with Alzheimer’s.  He passed in 2017.

Then Giaran presented itself.

What drew me to Giaran was that I was taking my expertise in Cosmetics and taking it to a whole new level by thinking outside the box by using my knowledge and applying it to a new way to buy cosmetics. My knowledge in technology is limited, but I loved the idea that AI could utilize Cosmetics in a whole new way. I was able to use my extensive networking and was able to secure appointments with Shiseido, Estee Lauder, and Clarins within the first few weeks of my hire and eventually, Giaran was acquired by Shiseido in November 2017.”

With Giaran now acquired Elise says she believes the best is yet to be!

I now live in Back Bay Boston MA after moving up here 6 1/2 years ago. After 25 years at White’s and after our parents died, we decided to sell the family business and building. I decided I needed to shake things up a bit as I felt my like out there had become a bit like the movie ” Groundhog Day’- same routine but a different day. Since moving up here, I have continued working out with a trainer 3 days a week. My boyfriend and I love to travel and have traveled around the US as well as Italy and are planning to go to England and Paris this fall. Also, I have been taking French tutoring lessons to bone up on my language skills when we go to Paris.”
